Water & Wastewater

Dry Creek Sewer Company Strategic Planning and Reuse

INFRA science & engineering expanded wastewater reuse capacity at Dry Creek Ranch, supporting 800 homes with treatment.

Pioneering Sustainable Wastewater Reuse at Dry Creek Ranch

In the heart of Idaho’s Dry Creek Ranch, a new model for sustainable water management is taking shape. As the community expanded, so did the need for a smarter, more resilient wastewater solution—one that could support growth without compromising environmental responsibility. That’s where INFRA science & engineering stepped in.

A Vision for Sustainable Growth

With more homes being built, the existing wastewater system needed an upgrade. INFRA was brought in to strategize and implement an expansion of the decentralized wastewater treatment and reuse system. The goal was clear: increase capacity, improve efficiency, and create a scalable model for sustainable development.

Through a series of targeted infrastructure improvements, the system now supports 800 homes, increasing its reuse capacity to 140,000 gallons per day while recycling 10,000 gallons of utility water daily. These enhancements not only meet the current needs of the community but also lay the groundwork for future growth.

The Power of Decentralized Systems

Decentralized wastewater treatment offers many advantages, but it also comes with unique performance and operational risks. Unlike traditional large-scale wastewater plants, these systems must be carefully managed to ensure reliability and efficiency.

INFRA addressed these challenges by applying data-driven analysis and strategic risk assessments. We provided clear, actionable insights to optimize system performance, improve resilience, and maintain cost-effectiveness.

A Blueprint for the Future

Dry Creek Ranch isn’t just another housing development—it’s a proof of concept for how sustainable, localized wastewater management can work on a large scale. By integrating watershed-based reuse solutions, INFRA helped create a system that benefits both residents and the environment.

With these advancements in place, Dry Creek Ranch is setting a new standard for water sustainability, proving that smart infrastructure investments can fuel both growth and environmental responsibility.
